Group Booking Terms

Terms and Conditions

Party sizes of up to 4 people are booked for a 90-minute slot; party sizes over 4 people for 120 minutes. Please let us know if you require longer.

For parties of over 8 people, we require a £10 deposit per person (via credit or debit card only NO CASH) plus either a set menu choice (for parties over 12) or a pre-order. Bookings of over 8 are not confirmed until we have received a deposit and menu choice. 

Please inform us if you are going to be late for your booking. If we cannot contact you and you have not arrived within 15 minutes of your booking time we will re book your table.

Food or drink that has not been prepared or purchased at Nicholsons is NOT permitted. There are exceptions for Birthday cakes and baby food (please note we are not liable for any food we did not prepare).

If you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible by telephone or email.

Where deposits have been paid and we can re book your table we will happily refund all or part of the deposit. 

There is a maximum booking size of 12 people up until 5 pm each day and 8 people from 5 pm onwards for online bookings. If you want to book a party size over this, please complete the party booking enquiry form on our website.

Special Terms for Parties Over 8 People

Please ensure we have the correct contact telephone number and email address information. If we are unable to make contact we will release your booking

  1. We require a £10 deposit per person (via credit or debit card only NO CASH) 14 days before your booking. 
  2. For parties of 8 – 10 people, a set menu choice or a pre-order is required*
  3. For parties over 10 people, one choice from our Set Party Menus is required
  4. Menu choices will need to be received a minimum of 72 Hours before your booking date. Please notify us in advance of any special dietary requirements or any other changes you require to our set menus.
  5. Your booking is not confirmed until a deposit and set menu or pre-order is received.
  6. We reserve the right to retain deposits for no-shows when the final numbers reduce by more than 4 people and we are not notified 24 Hours in advance of the booking date.
  7. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings where a deposit and Set party Menu (or a pre-order) have been received.

*We can assist customers with a basic pre-order and they can add to this when they are seated
*Midweek bookings for groups of less than 10 which are sitting before 5.00 pm will generally not need a pre-order

If you have placed a provisional booking but have not paid a deposit we will do our best to contact you by telephone or e-mail.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking or restrict entry without notice. In the unlikely event we decide to do this we will fully refund you any deposits and explain in detail our reasons. Menus may be subject to minor change – you will be notified by email or phone of any changes.

Cancellations
Bookings cancellation may result in the charges shown below:

  • Full refund on deposits paid if you cancel and give a minimum of 1 Weeks Notice
  • 50% refund when we are given less than one Week up to 48 Hours notice
  • 20% refund if we are given less than 48 Hours up to 24 Hours notice
  • No refund if we are given less than 24 Hours’ notice

We reserve the right to retain deposits for no-shows when the final numbers change by more than 5 people and we are not notified 24 Hours in advance of the booking date.
